Some ground rules.

These are set and enforced by the mastodns.net moderators.

  1. Posts on MastoDNS must comply with the DNS-OARC Code of Conduct, which is available here: https://www.dns-oarc.net/oarc/policies/conduct
  2. When participating, treat others with tolerance, respect and courtesy, regardless of who they are and who you are.
  3. Do not use language which is racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, uses slurs, or is otherwise discriminatory.
  4. Do not use personal attacks in discussion with others. Vigorous debate is welcome, but ad hominem does nothing to advance an open exchange of ideas.
  5. Content which is illegal or endangers the safety of others is prohibited.
  6. Do not harass anyone, or participate in group harassment of anyone. Posting—or threatening to post—other people's personally identifying information ("doxing") constitutes harassment.
  7. Do not post adult content, or sexually explicit material (including pictures containing nudity). This includes sexualized comments or jokes. Posts including unwelcome sexual attention constitute harassment.
  8. Do not post about controversial or sensitive subjects without a Content Warning.
  9. Do not police your fellow users. You may feel a user has violated our standards or rules, but you should block them or report them for admins to handle. Starting an argument among users only serves to add noise to the signal.
  10. Do not debate moderation actions in public posts. If you disagree with how a moderator enforced these rules, you may direct-message the moderation team or email mastodon@dns-oarc.net.
